Mr. Sanjiv Tandon

Mr. Sanjiv Tandon arrived in Lomé on 5 June 2021 to take up his assignment as Ambassador of India to Togo. Mr. Tandon joined the Ministry of External Affairs in 1990. He has handled different areas of work in his diplomatic service, including political, commercial & economic, and cultural work. During his overseas postings, he has served in Consulate General of India in Shanghai (1992-1995), Permanent Mission of India to the World Trade Organisation in Geneva (1996-1999), Embassy of India in Tashkent (2000-2003), Embassy of India in Budapest (2005-2009), Embassy of India in Panama (2009-2013), and Embassy of India in Washington D.C. (2015-2019). At headquarters, he worked in Overseas Indians, Economic Relations, and United Nations Divisions. Prior to this, he was Counsellor (Economic & Political) at the Embassy of India in Lima, Peru (September 2019 to April 2021). He is an Arts Graduate. He is married to Neetu Tandon and they have two sons.
