Visit of Ambassador to Kara

Ambassador Sanjiv Tandon undertook an official visit to Kara on 25-26 October 2021. In Kara, he visited Steel Cube factory, which is a 100% Indian investment and employs 380 direct local jobs. He had meetings with Kara administration, including Mayor, Deputy Mayors of the Kozah commune and Permanent Secretary, Préfet of Kozah.  Ambassador also called on Kara University President Prof. Sanda and exchanged views on strengthening linkages in the field of education.

Ambassador also met members of the Indian diaspora in Kara. During the visit, Embassy in partnership with Steel Cube factory donated 16 bicycles to a school CEG Lama Kolide.

Ambassador also met with three academic researchers from Kara University who had attended the prestigious CV Raman Fellowship programme in India.

On way to Kara, Ambassador also visited Fazao-Malfakassa National Park to see progress in the Government of India-funded project being implemented by UNESCO through India-UN Development Partnership Fund. The project, which currently operates in 15 of the 58 villages around the Park and aims to preserve biodiversity-friendly livelihoods and support alternate means of livelihood to rural communities in the area, is likely to be completed by July 2022.
