ICCR Scholarship for Indian Culture
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), an extended arm of Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, is an autonomous organization established in 1950 with the primary objectives of establishing, reviving and strengthening cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries.
ICCR has announced 100 scholarship slots globally under “ICCR Scholarship Scheme for Indian Culture” to pursue course of Indian dance, music, sculpture, Indian theatre, cuisine etc. for the Academic Year 2022-23. The salient points of “ICCR Scholarship for Indian Culture” are as follows:
- Applicants must be between the age of 18 to 30 years.
- This scholarship includes return economy class airfare, tuition fee and accommodation. However, selected ICCR scholarship candidates must obtain medical insurance policy with minimum sum assured for Indian rupees 500,000 (US$6800) per year before travel to India or immediately after reaching India.
- Applicants have the option to apply to 5 Universities/Institutes of their preference. Admission, as far as possible, shall be given as per applicant’s preference.
- As the medium of instruction is English, applicants need to submit 500-word essay in English. Besides, students can also submit their TOEFL/IELTS score etc.
- Interested applicants are advised to visit respective University/Institute website and do thorough research of courses offered, eligibility criteria and general information before applying for admission.
- Applicants can apply for admission directly at “Admissions to Alumni” (A2A) (www.a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in), the Scholarship Portal developed by ICCR till 30 April 2022.
