Gift of Medicines to two Health centres in Kara region

Ambassador visited Kara on 10-11 February 2022 to gift some essential medicines to two health centres in Kara region, namely Atchangbade and Kante. Free medical camps were also held at these two locations. It was arranged in partnership with Ajanta Pharma, one of the reputed pharma companies in India with global presence. Both functions were attended by Préfet of Kozah and Keran prefecture as well as the Mayors and the village chiefs. India’s gesture was greatly appreciated by local dignitaries.

Ambassador also visited the village of Dauade near Kara, which is one of the 150 villages electrified under India’s development partnership project for rural electrification of 150 localities. Ambassador met village community and assessed socio-economic conditions as a result of the village electrification. The village also has schools and a hospital.

Ambassador also met Préfet of Kozah Col. Bakali Badibawu and briefed about the impact of India’s development assistance projects on the people of Kara region. Ambassador also had a meeting with President of Kara University Prof. Sanda and discussed strengthening of linkages between Kara University and Indian universities in the field of higher education and skill development.
